Ella Dominguez – Continental Life (Teasers)

Continental Life by Ella Dominguez

Series: Continental Affair #3

Having been only lovers, Bella and Xander must now become friends if their relationship is to endure the hardships of longevity. Before they can begin their new life together, they must also learn to accept each other for who they really are – in and out of the office and bedroom.

For Bella, being the fiance of a busy CEO is difficult enough, but being a full-time medical student as well, is even more challenging as she tries to find the time for her man and her education.

For Xander, living the life of a worldly CEO and being the fiancé of a hard-working medical student has its up and downs, too. But he’s no common CEO – he’s also a dominant and an instructor at a prestigious domestic discipline training center, something he’s finally forced to share with Bella, as well as all the feelings he had suppressed for so long.

Realizing that being a submissive to Mr. Pettifor 9-5 doesn’t compare to being his obedient partner 24/7, Bella thinks she has the perfect plan to strengthen their bond and to spend more time with her alpha male – to attend the school which Xander teaches at so that she learn exactly what he needs in a partner.

Submerged in the domestic discipline lifestyle, she’s forced to see the man she loves educating other women, something she wasn’t prepared for. Headstrong and tenacious, Bella refuses to quit even when she realizes she must be willing to be instructed by other men in order to achieve her goal of finishing the DD Program. But is she really ready for that? Xander doesn’t think so and he worries the training may harm rather than help their relationship.

As Bella and Xander struggle to find their way and make their unconventional relationship work, it seems everyone and everything is trying to come between them. And so their dance of push and pull begins as they both fight their way through their emotions and fear of the unknown.

Ella Dominguez – Continental Beginnings (Teasers)

Continental Beginnings by Ella Dominguez

Series: Continental Affair #2

Written from Mr. Pettifor’s POV.

From the first day Mr. Pettifor laid eyes on Bella Darcy, he knew he couldn’t deny himself the indulgence of being with her. Against his better judgement, he hired her, knowing full well he would pay the price with her constant presence. Little did the alpha male know that before him stood a woman who yearned for his touch, his control and his training.

By day, Mr. Pettifor was a hard working businessman and a force to be reckoned with. At night, he was a talented and skilled instructor at a domestic disclipline training center and an austere alpha male whom women bowed at his feet.

At a crossroads in her life, Bella had started a new career path, hoping to one day go to medical school. When she applied as the personal assistant to the inscrutable Mr. Pettifor, she never thought it would lead to anything more than an interview.

This is the story of Mr. Pettifor, a man who took for granted the love and adoration given to him until it was taken away, and how he fell in love with the woman he trained to be everything he ever wanted. This is the tale of the shy and fearful Ms. Darcy and how she flourished under his command, never knowing of his secret life, never asking questions, and yet, somehow finding her true courageous self in the process.

This is the story of how their relationship began.

Ella Dominguez – Continental Breakfast

Continental Breakfast by Ella Dominguez

Series: Continental Affair #1
Source: Personal Library
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Bella Darcy is personal assistant, muse and plaything to wealthy businessman Mr. Pettifor. Their 9-5 relationship is unconventional, but mutually satisfying.

Mr. Pettifor is alpha male personified – demanding, stern, insatiable, emotionally closed-off and seemingly indifferent to anything that doesn’t involve six zeros behind it.

Bella had never wanted more until the day she heard passionate cries that didn’t belong to her, coming from his office. Deeply hurt and realizing that she cannot be with a man who can so blatantly be with another woman while she is mere feet away, Bella turns in her letter of resignation, throwing Mr. Pettifor into a tailspin. Everything he’s worked so hard for now seems insignificant and the woman whom he trained to be everything he wanted, has now decided to move on, leaving him reeling.

Short, sweet, & sizzling hot!

I keep a very close watch over his schedule and time, as well as seeing to his personal needs, in all matters. But the best parts of our routine are the mornings and they are what I treasure the most. When Mr. Pettifor comes over the intercom to tell me he wants his continental breakfast, I know it’s not eggs and a bagel that he’s requesting.

…that’s right, some good ol’ fashioned bagin’ the boss kink!
Yum.

Continental Breakfast is the first of a three part series following the unconventional relationship of Bella Darcy and her boss, Mr. Pettifor… While this installment is short – coming in at a mere 53 pages – it packs an erotic punch which will knock your socks off!

We share a symbiotic relationship that goes without saying. His needs are met and so are mine.

This is an unraveling relationship which causes both parties to rethink the nature of their partnership before it’s too late…

Bella Darcy is ready to move on and train a replacement to suit the needs of her demanding boss.
…or is she?

Q&A with Ella Dominguez

1. If you were to describe your e-book/book in only one word, what would it be?
Unconventional.

2. What would you say inspired you to write it?
Reading. I was reading at an early age, around four, and ever since then, I’ve been writing my own stories.

3. What was the source of inspiration for your protagonist? What about your antagonist?
I didn’t really have a source of inspiration for these particular characters. They just popped into my head. Actually, I dreamt about them. My dreams are very, VERY vivid. I woke up and wrote it in about ten hours.

4. Have you ever been hit by the infamous “writer’s block”? What did you do to escape it?
Ugh. YES! Every book I write, I’m struck with it. I’m not sure if it’s actually writer’s block or just anxiety and self-doubt. Reading helps me to get over it. Reading also inspires me. I just have to push myself forward and remind myself that I’m my own worst critic.

5. Your all time favorite book?
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

6. What made you pick that one above all others?
It’s always been a book near and dear to my heart. It was the first book I read as a child where the story spoke to me. I must’ve read it 100 times growing up. It’s the book that made me love literature.

7. What’s the longest time you’ve spent working on a project?
I don’t really know. I’ve never counted the days it took to finish a project so I’m only guessing, but I THINK This Love’s Not for Sale took me the longest. I think around 6-8 weeks. ???

8. Would you say becoming an author has changed you? In what way?
No. I’m still the same dirty-minded, raunchy and sarcastic individual I always was.

9. Was there ever a time, during your work for the e-book/book, when you felt like giving up? What made you change your mind?
Not really. If there’s a story to be told, my characters generally won’t give me the option to ‘give up’ or quit until their story is written.

10. What does your day-to-day life consist of? What else do you do, aside writing?
Now that I’m no longer working as a respiratory therapist and I’m writing full-time, my day consists of waking far too late, brain storming, participating in waaaay too much social media on line, brain storming some more, doing a little writing, procrastinating about writing,, and then finally sitting my ass down to write. Oh yeah, I also have to keep my husband and daughter entertained in the process and clean up after their constant destruction of my home.

11. How do you deal with bad reviews or acid criticism? What would you advise other authors to that effect?
I’ve only recently stopped reading anything under 3 stars. For nearly two years I’ve read everything, the good, the bad and the ugly, and I can honestly tell you, the negativity soul crushing. Some people are just cruel and even though I told myself time and time again to take it with a grain of salt, I couldn’t. I even considered stopping writing altogether because of some of those reviews. My only advice to other authors is to just take what you can from them and try to move forward, because some of those 1 star reviews did help me grow.

Now, for the process after reading a bad review: After reading the harsh review, I pout and chastise myself for reading it and for my horrible writing skills. Next, I reread it and get angry. More pouting is involved at this point, too. I walk away only to come back and REREAD the damned thing. My sarcasm comes spilling out and I end up yelling at the screen. Finally, I make myself a margarita, lay back, relax and try to forget the harsh words. After all that, I REPEAT the process at least a few more times. It’s sad, but true.

12. Is this title part of a series? Without giving us spoilers, of course, what can we expect from the next e-books/books in the series?
Yes, this is the first book in the series. The second book is already completed and I’m working on the final book now with an expected publication date of June 30th. The last book in the series is a continuation of the characters story. They struggle to maintain their relationship while she attends medical school and he teaches at a domestic discipline training center. She decides to attend the program and therein lies the steam and angst.

13. What do you have stored for us in the future? What are you working on/planning on next, aside this title/series?
I would like to finish up my Art of D/s series. The prequel is next on my to-do list after finishing up this series (Continental Affair). After that I’m starting another series called Crimson Kisses with a coauthor,Thomas Duder, a paranormal/erotic piece of fiction. It’s a quartet of books so it’s going to take some serious time, but the first book is (hopefully) due out in Sept. or Oct. Then… maybe, MAYBE, another book in the Art of D/s that includes all the characters from that series and Becoming Sir. I’m also seriously considering doing another off-shoot series from those books about the Dark Asylum, but that’s just a thought.

14. Your situation deviates slightly from other authors being featured in my “Indie Flutters” series. I usually feature self-published authors, but you’ve taken that a step further with your creation, Bondage Bunny Publishing. Can you tell me a bit about that project?
Everything I read about indie publishing stated that a professional look or name would be better received so I decided to come up with my own label. I’ve only recently decided to branch out and take on a few writers (which is still in the works). I love the idea of helping others achieve what I have. Generally, indie publishing isn’t super difficult to get into if you’re not too concerned about what you’re putting out there and, unfortunately, there are far too many people like that, giving indie writers a bad name. There are a lot of little things that I’ve learned along my journey in self publishing and I’d like to share that knowledge and help other aspiring writers.

15. What made you decide to become an Indie Author? What made you take that a step further and create an Indie Label?
I’ve always written stories, but never did anything with them. After reading FSOG, I thought: “I’ve been writing this stuff for years.” I had vaguely heard of indie publishing so I looked into it, did my research, and decided to give it a go. I honestly never thought I could make a career out of it. I just wanted people to read my stories.

16. What would you say was the toughest part?
Getting people to read my work. It’s a never-ending process. Without a big label behind me, I struggle with every book to get it in front of the people I think (and hope) will enjoy it.

17. (As it relates to your book) Did you hire professionals for editing, cover design, formatting?
I have a professional cover designer only.

18. How did you decide who to hire, if you worked with pros?
Since I don’t really work with ‘pros’ per se, except for my cover designer, whom. I found him by sheer luck while doing a Google search, I work with regular people who do beta reading and copy/editing on the side. I found all them, save for one, on Goodreads. I’ve sort of weeded out the beta readers as the years have gone on and I have an amazing group right now.

19. How long did the production part take, from the moment you began working on the manuscript to self-pub to when you hit ‘Publish’?
It’s different for ever book. But in general, a novel will generally take right around three months from beginning stages of writing to editing to formatting. A novella is about 6-8 weeks for the entire process. For this particular novella, I wrote it in a day, had it edited and published within a week. I still don’t know how I did it.

20. Where is your work being distributed, Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, AllRomanceEbooks/ Omnilit, some other distributor? How did you decide which one(s) to go with?
All of the above. I did the research and went with where my books could reach the most people.

21. If you could turn back in time and do things differently, would you? What would you change?
In respect to life, I would not be so sexually reserved in my younger years. In regards to publishing, I wish I had better prepared my first novel. Better editing, formatting, more thought out… I think I’d be doing better right now if I had. Then again, I believe things happen in their own time so…

Fun Facts

1. If you could wish for any one thing, and it would immediately come true, what would you wish for?
For a big name publisher and millions of readers to fall madly in love with one of my books.

2. If you were stranded on an isolated island, what’s the one book you’d absolutely wish to have with you?
FSOG. Don’t judge me.

Mango.

Raspberry or peach tea.

Fall.

The Art of D/s Trilogy (The Art of D/s, #1-3)The Art of D/s Trilogy by Ella Dominguez

Series: The Art of D/s
Source: Personal Library
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Complete Trilogy:
The Art of Submission
The Art of Domination
The Art of Control

Approximately 315K words. Contains moderate BDSM themes, detailed sexual encounters including oral and anal sex, total power exchange, mild edge play/blood play, and is intended for mature audiences and readers 18+. Not for the fainthearted or closed-minded individuals.

Romantic, erotic, deeply emotional, suspenseful and humorous.

Isabel is a shy artist with an abusive past who has a very vivid fantasy life and unexplored unusual sexual tastes. When her very private and naughty-natured artwork is sold without her permission, she sets out to try and retrieve her precious paintings, unaware that the buyer has dark sexual tendencies.

Dylan Young is an eccentric businessman and art collector with very specific tastes in women and sex, and serious trust issues. When he comes upon a very erotic set of paintings, he purchases them and they ignite a want and need for the alternative lifestyle he was forced to give up.

When the two meet, Dylan immediately picks up on Isabel’s submissive nature and hatches a wicked plan to teach Isabel about his alternative lifestyle. He wants nothing more than to get his hands on more of her paintings and to dominate the submissive beauty.

Their affair is intensely physical and despite Dylan’s wanting only a sexual relationship with distinct boundaries, he can’t resist her spirited nature, her eagerness and lack of fear to learn BDSM, and most of all – her immense talent. But Isabel has a hidden dominant streak of her own that only Dylan brings out and as they’re drawn closer together, their unconventional relationship is threatened as they each struggle with their pasts and for control.

This is the tale of their love for each other, their unbreakable bond, and their trials in a world that offers nothing but obstacles. This is the saga of two dynamic characters whose personalities collide as they struggle with their dominant and submissive tendencies and seek control in all things as their pasts come back to haunt them in spectacular fashion.

This Erotic Trilogy packs a punch – Ella Dominguez has balanced panty-melting Erotica with an intriguing and thought-provoking storyline…

I’d like to share my overall impressions of this series, then encourage you to visit the links at the end of this post for the full reviews on each book…

To start with, the erotic element in these books is as beautifully written as it is sinfully hot… The BDSM inclusion becomes progressively more intense as the series continues, but never becomes more than the seasoned reader can handle…

The infusion of humor keeps the whole series grounded…

On a more serious note, we learn why the characters have come to embrace the BDSM lifestyle in each of their lives, and how their pasts have shaped their worldview. The whole Trilogy has a fascinating focus on the theme of control… Dylan and Isa each have their motives which necessitate their desire to take control sexually.

This is the first series I’ve read where we have a true Switch – someone who fully embraces the role of Dominant or submissive depending on the scene. Occasionally I read a story where the submissive turns the tables for a single scene, but the characters in the D/s Trilogy are in a relationship which allows both partners to take on the role of Top on a fairly regular basis. This adds a unique element to their dynamic, as well as their personalities. Neither character sits firmly in their established role. They are growing into their relationship together.

The inclusion of the mesmerizing artwork (from artist, Rebekka Ivacson) enhances the story and gives insight into Isa’s personality. After all, Isa is an artist, so her artwork represents a window into her tortured soul…

MOST IMPORTANTLY, THIS COLLECTION IS CURRENTLY 99¢ ON AMAZON! GO BUY IT!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Warning: Contains moderate BDSM themes, graphic sexual encounters, profanity, Dom/me in action, oral and anal sex. Intended for adult readers 18+. Not for the faint of heart or closed-minded individuals.

Having moved on from the terrible events of two months earlier, Dylan and Isa try to move on with their lives. Things seem to be going well as they grow into the roles of their unconventional D/s relationship, each learning the give and take of power and pain, accepting and giving love unconditionally, and respecting each other’s wants, desires and need for control.

But Isa has been fighting with the demons of her past. Recurring nightmares have begun to plague her and fear of the future overwhelms her on a daily basis. Her desire for control and independence prevent her from sharing her deepest fears with the man she loves, threatening to drive a wedge between the couple.

With gentle yet stern prodding from her cherished Dom, Isa confides in Dylan and their bond grows deeper. But their kinky fairy tale existence is all too good to be true when Isabel’s father sets forth a chain of events that will test their love and loyalty for each other, and Isa is forced to decide which is more important – Dylan’s life or her happily ever after.

Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48

The final installment in the D/s Trilogy gave us a truly stunning conclusion to the whirlwind relationship between Dylan and Isa…

Just when I thought it was impossible to love him anymore, I do. I love him entirely, completely, eternally and infinitely, and beyond the stars and universe.

This book was a perfect example of how to balance panty-melting Erotica with an intriguing and thought-provoking storyline…
It featured emotional turmoil (for both the MCs as well as the Reader),
personal growth from both main characters,
heart-wrenching confessions,
nail-biting suspense…
and of course, the sinfully sexy interludes we’ve come to expect from this series…

DYLAN YOUNG

He’s a strict Dom with a vicious sadistic streak a mile wide, but I love it just as much as I love him. His hand is firm and he’s not afraid to use it when I’ve broken protocol, but his heart is soft and he’s gotten less and less afraid to show that side of himself.

ISABEL YOUNG

“I like the pain because it makes me feel alive. But more importantly, I surrender to the pain because it pleases my Master and I know he enjoys giving it to me and that he needs to give it to me in order for him to feel content…”

Many trilogies often stumble over themselves in the third book, rushing toward the end and struggling to tie everything up with a pretty bow, but Ella Dominguez had a beautiful rhythm to her timing… She kept me on the edge of my seat, a lump in my throat, turning pages like a mad woman without even realizing it…

Honestly, if I didn’t have Becoming Sir to look forward to reading next… I would have the biggest book hangover…

Ella Dominguez – The Art of Domination

The Art of Domination (The Art of D/s, #2)The Art of Domination by Ella Dominguez

Series: The Art of D/s #2
Source: Personal Library
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Warning: Written for mature audiences and includes profanity, graphic sexual encounters, moderate BDSM themes and mild edgeplay.

Romantic, erotic, suspenseful, emotional and humorous.

Five months into their intensely physical and BDSM-laced relationship, Dylan is ready to make a lifelong commitment to Isabel. But Isabel has reservations and for good reason as Dylan has continued to remain secretive and closed off about his past.

When someone from Dylan’s past makes an unwelcome appearance, he is forced to confront his demons head on as he is threatened with exposure about his sexual proclivities. More concerning is the threat of exposure about how his parents’ death rests on his shoulders. Forced into an awkward situation, Dylan must help the former lover and ex-submissive who threatens to expose him, all while trying to keep it a secret from Isa.

Dylan and Isa embark on a new journey as they take vows to never let anything tear them apart, a journey that tests Isa’s physical and mental limits as Dylan lets his true Dominant and sadistic nature out, giving Isa more artistic inspiration than she ever thought possible. But can Isa keep her own Dominant nature at bay long enough to allow Dylan to fulfill his sadistic fantasies?

With Isa’s upcoming debut gallery show and just when things are heating up, their relationship is threatened when Isa comes face-to-face with Dylan’s past activities with his ex and a woman from his past who won’t let him go.

To make matters worse, Isa’s father tries to force his way back into her life and she finds out just how truly cruel he really is as his secrets are revealed.

With everything that comes to light, can Isa stay true to her vows of for better or worse?

Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48

Holy Crap! The second book in the D/s Trilogy soars above the first and firmly solidifies Ella Dominguez’s ability to write intense, intriguing fiction with an Erotic BDSM twist…

“There are far worse people than you and I in this world and being a little dirty minded never hurt anyone, so fuck anyone who has a problem with it.”

I had firm words to say about the first book in this series, and I’m here to tell you that continuing this series was my absolute pleasure. Every issue I had with the first book was nonexistent here, and has been wiped from my memory by the outstanding writing from book two. The continuation of Dylan and Isabel’s journey was an edge-of-your-seat-while-squirming triumph.

DYLAN YOUNG

Dylan on why he thinks he became a Dominant:

“It’s hard to put into words. It makes me feel wanted and needed, like a God, and like I can accomplish anything. I like the trust that’s given to me when I’m in control. It’s because it’s who I am.”

ISABEL IBANEZ

Isa on why she thinks she became a submissive:

“I like being under your control and pleasing you. I like the feeling of surrendering myself to you and the trust we have that comes from that. I already told you that my curiosity for sex like this came from the lack of excitement from vanilla sex, not for any other reason…”

There was just so much more to this book:
More honest love between the Dylan & Isa,
more character development,
more action and intrigue,
more suspense…

Plus, the author ramped up the Erotic Intensity:
The BDSM element was stronger in this installment,
Dylan let out his sadistic side,
Isa discovered her masochist side,
There was more hard-core bondage & discipline,
anal play,
knife play,
fire play,
public displays…

I stand before you completely blown away…

I absolutely loved it, and I’m thrilled to be moving on to Book Three!

An Erotic BDSM Romance with a focus on CONTROL…

I need it, too, and for the same reasons she does; because we both never had any when we needed it the most; because vanilla isn’t enough; because we’re the same kind of freaks.

This is the first book in a series, establishing the relationship between a former Dom and a young woman with kinky fantasies but no experience with the Dominant/submissive lifestyle… As they discover more about each other, they’re also discovering the extent of their desire…

The lines become blurred.
The line between pleasure and pain…
between sex and love…
between life and art…
& between Dominant and submissive…

DYLAN YOUNG
Sucessful Business Man, Art Collector, & Former Dom…

“He looks like a sexy-as-hell dark angel, though in reality, I suspect this naughty boy is more like a wolf in sheep’s clothing; the clothing being an Armani suit, no less.”

The charismatic and wealthy Dylan is stagnating after giving up his BDSM lifestyle… With one wrong turn at an art gallery he finds himself face to face with three paintings which serve to remind him of all the erotic memories he thought he’d left behind…

ISABEL IBANEZ
Artist, introvert, & closet submissive…

“…how can someone who looks so angelic create such erotic images? Perhaps she’s not as saintly as she looks… an angel with a dark side… mmm… That’s a filthy little thought.”

Little Isa has a hidden naughty side which is only expressed through her erotic paintings… She never intended for them to be sold to anyone, and resolves to track down the buyer…

What do I adore in my Erotica?
Dual Points of View,
A good amount of kink,
A bit of humor,
Overcoming mental obstacles,
& Some seriously steamy sexytimes…

Seriously Ella Dominguez,
Did you know I’m an artist?
That I have a gallery?
That we all secretly dream of being swept off our feet by a charming Dom?!?!
Of course you didn’t! But bonus points to you anyway!

Now lets talk about things I loathe in my Erotica:
Female characters who constantly put themselves down,
Characters who are convinced they are unlovable and unworthy,
When the plot is carried by two characters who don’t talk to each other,
Reading the same book over & over,
& Characters who neglect to consider the following: in the scheme of Safe, Sane, Consensual, one must disclose potential triggers… like abuse…

So what’s the problem?
This book contained everything on BOTH lists…

Another Issue (which has been mentioned by other reviewers) that I would like to expand upon: For a while there it felt like I was reading like fan-fiction…
I was noticing some serious similarities between this text and a very popular best selling piece of soft-core fiction which shall remain nameless… But here’s the thing, for every action or piece of dialogue which mimicked and mirrored something else, it was improved upon. This is my personal opinion (obviously) and I’ve read a few reviews where I am vehemently disagreed with. Every time I read a line that was suspiciously similar to something else, I would have to concede that Ella Dominguez wrote it better, and with more personality…

All that being said,
I am not in the habit of reading book only to play a literary version of “who wore it best” so my enjoyment was certainly diminished.

I will happily continue the series, as it really started to come into its stride in the last quarter of the book. Some of the issues which were dragging the book down were greatly improved upon:
Isabella was growing more confident,
Secrets were starting to be shared,
Dylan’s heart was growing softer…

And I was not expecting the little saucy twist in Isa’s personality…

Moving on to Book Two!
