Allyson James – Calder

Calder by Allyson James

Series: Tales of the Shareem #4
Source: Personal Library
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Medic Katarina d’Arnal moves to the slums to work in a free clinic and ends up drawing the job of inoculating Shareem. The first Shareem who shows up is the Calder, a level three, muffled from head to foot, refusing to bare even an inch of skin. He’s used to an elderly medic who jabs him and lets him go, not the pretty, young highborn woman who wants to do everything by the book.

Calder hides himself because, unlike the rest of the Shareem—the handsome, arrogant, a-holes—Calder is scarred all over, the result of a plasma fire years ago. He’s learned that women crave to be with him, as hideous as he is, and he’s created a world where they can indulge in their darkest fantasies with the Beast. He give them an exotic experience with a capital E.

But this woman, Katarina, looks at Calder the man, and wants to know all about him. Calder decides to show her what he is when she’s tricked into visiting his lair—but Katarina keeps insisting on touching his burned face with her gentle fingers, trying to find the man behind the tormented Beast.

Calder knows if he lets her in to what he truly is, it will be the end of him……

Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48Star_half

Nothing satisfies quite like a mysterious tortured hero…

“This is Calder, sweetheart,” Braden said. “One of the best level threes ever made. Means he’s gentle as a kitten one minute, dangerous as a desert tiger the next. You never know what he’s going to do.”
But that made him more exciting.

Calder was a wonderfully crafted character. The author had set up his mysterious and foreboding persona in the the previous books. He was more intriguing than any other Shareem by the time we got to his book.

CALDER
a.k.a The Beast: Level Three Shareem

Braden on Calder:

“…Forget about Calder, sweetheart. He’s . . . Put it this way—when he got burned he went to a bad place, and I don’t mean the DNAmo lab. He never really recovered. There’s a darkness to him that a pretty lady like you doesn’t need to touch. He’s taken level three to a height even I don’t understand. And I’m pretty bad-ass.”

We knew that Calder was disfigured by a fire when he was being experimented on at DNAmo. We also know that Dr. Laas saved him, but that he had not mentally recovered from the incident. He covered himself head to toe in black robes and goggles, allowing no one to see his mangled skin.

This aversion to nudity does not serve him well when he checks into the clinic for his required inoculations. The pretty little doctor working at the slum clinic insists that he disrobe for a full exam. Naturally, Calder refuses. He rips the hypo from her hand, inoculates himself, then storms out of the clinic leaving a baffled Dr. Katarina d’Arnal behind.

KATARINA
a.k.a. Dr. Katarina d’Arnal

She suddenly understood the complete appeal of Shareem, why women would pay fortunes for an appointment with Calder.
Shareem would do anything in the name of pleasure. And there was a hint of uncertainty about how far they would go.

Calder has a gimmick to cope with his disfigurement, he has created a pleasure palace where he hunts his prey in the dark. He capitalizes on wealthy women’s captive fantasies, and makes a ton of money doing it. There’s a waiting list a mile long to get in. And once you’re in Calder’s lair there’s no safe word, no mercy… He will hunt you, he will find you, and you’ll learn what it is like to be with the BEAST.

As I said, the wait-list to be hunted by the BEAST is a mile long, but meddling Dr. Angelica Laas (who we’ve known from previous books) decides to play match-maker. She hack’s Calder’s database and inserts a listing for little miss Katarina. She then sends a transmission to the clinic Dr. d’Arnal works at and informs them that someone is in need of medical attention at Calder’s address. You see where this is going?

Once Katarina realizes that she’s been set up in this erotic situation with the Shareem she has been dreaming about, she willingly submits herself to the dark and to the desires of the BEAST…

**sigh**
I’ve got mixed feelings with this one folks. A few things bothered me about this installment in the Tales of the Shareem Series:

Insta-Love has been a near constant in this series, and I’ve been more-or-less cool with it. The heroines always seem to fall in love very quickly with their Shareem, but for some reason, Katarina seemed to fall extra hard, extra fast…

Maybe I feel this way because because I loved the connection between Ky & Aiden in the last book? Their connection grew over twenty years, so the love seemed more real/deep to me?

In addition, Calder’s mood swings kind of drove me nuts. One second he was so sure that he wanted Katarina, the next he was running away and hiding in his lair for weeks. There’s a difference between “broken” and “childish”.

That being said, once the emotion started pouring honestly from both main characters, the book became immensely enjoyable! Calder and Katarina were a little awkward in the beginning, but once all the petty behavior was set aside, and the real conflicts began to occur… Wow.

Allyson James – Aiden and Ky

Aiden and Ky by Allyson James

Series: Tales of the Shareem #3
Source: Personal Library
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brianne, a woman of the ruling family, has never seen a Shareem, until she spies Aiden, a level one, in a coffee bar in the working-class part of town. Unknown to Brianne, her bodyguards arrest Aiden for even looking at her, and Aiden is locked away, scheduled to be terminated.

Ky, a level-three Shareem and Aiden’s closest friend, is furious. He tries to extract Aiden, which only ends up in him being arrested alongside him.

Brianne, horrified, has both of them freed, but Ky wants to teach Lady Brianne a lesson to make up for almost getting Aiden killed. Aiden accompanies him, worried about Ky’s volatile nature, and Brianne finds herself alone in a train car with two Shareem men who have many things on their minds.

The incident has Ky bothered for more than one reason—it forced the feelings he’s kept hidden for Aiden to surface. But such things are forbidden to Shareem, as he learned the hard way years ago.

With Brianne with them, everything seems to be fine. But when Ky starts to give in to the longing he’s had for years, old danger resurfaces, which he knows could mean the end of his life.

Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48

This series pulls out all the stops for an MMF Erotic Romance with a Sci-Fi Twist!

Ky had never been this aching before, even after teasing a woman without releasing himself. But the scent of Brianne covered in Aiden’s oil and the taste of her skin, the heat of her pussy had been good. So good.
Even better had been Aiden’s fingers caressing his as they both stroked her, and Aiden’s tongue hard in his mouth. The combination of woman and man . . . Ky had never felt anything so potentially explosive in his existence.

We knew from the previous book in the series, Rio, that Aiden had developed feelings for his best friend and fellow Shareem Ky. He was content to hide his feelings for his friend, but fate has different plans. After all, the threat of death is a pretty huge motivator to bare your soul.

AIDEN
Level One Shareem

“It’s forbidden,” Ky said automatically.
“If we never did what was forbidden, we’d all be dead by now.”

Aiden was quietly enjoying a coffee and making eyes at a lovely woman sitting at a table across the room. She’s obviously interested (how could she not be interested? He is a face-sculpted example of male perfection) but she quickly flees the coffee shop before he has the opportunity to seduce. Unbeknownst to him, Brianne d’Aroth was the mysterious beautiful woman, and her bodyguards took it upon themselves to have him thrown in jail for stirring up her emotions. He is scheduled for termination…

BRIANNE d’AROTH
Member of the ruling family of Bor Narga

It had nothing to do with her IQ and everything to do with her being female. And alive.

Brianne is a member of the ruling family. A public figure engaged to a dull but equally powerful man. She has no intention of running off with the Shareem in the coffee shop, and left before her sexual feelings could override her common sense. She had no idea that the beautiful man had been hauled off and scheduled for termination. She uses her considerable power on the planet of Bor Narga to have him released, but not before making an enemy of Ky.

KY
Level Three Shareem

“You like to apologize.”
Brianne flushed. “You make me feel guilty. You’re good at it.”
“Only because I’m level three. The punisher. I want you to want your punishment.”

Ky and Aiden have stuck together for the past twenty years, and he’s not going to easily accept the apology of the High-Borne rich bitch that nearly had his best friend killed. He has a plan. Ky and Aiden will teach this woman what a Shareem can really do…

The three together are an explosive force. It’s not long before reality comes crashing down on them all…
Aiden must reveal his true feelings for his best friend.
Ky struggles to process his growing attraction to Aiden.
Brianne must navigate a way to enjoy her Shareem in a world where they are the lowest caste of society, and she is firmly at the top…

I’ll be honest, once Ky and Aiden begin to explore their growing relationship, I found Brianne to be fairly superfluous… I’m a fan of M/M Romances and would have been perfectly happy to drop the trio to a duo. That being said, when this book was first published in 2007, there weren’t a lot of M/M Romances written for a female audience, especially ones which take place in the middle of a series featuring M/F relationships…

But I’m certainly fine with it 🙂

voyeurism,
exhibitionism,
oral sex,

Allyson James – Rio

Rio by Allyson James

Series: Tales of the Shareem #2
Source: Personal Library
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Nella of Ariel is on the run, finding herself on Bor Narga, alone, penniless, friendless. She can trust no one—except the tall, amazing man who saves her from death by assassin bot and carries her off to his hideaway.

He’s a Shareem, he says. Rio. Level three, which means dark and dangerous pleasures.

Nella has no clue what Shareem are, but Rio is enticing, sexual, rude, crude, and makes her laugh. He also burns fire through her blood as he teaches her to trust him, the only way a level-three Shareem knows how to . . .

Rio had been on his way to get himself off stifling Bor Narga, where he lives as a near-slave. But he’s intrigued by his damsel in distress. And she needs his protection. Protecting her and teaching her is worth missing his transport, and maybe being stuck on this rock forever.…

Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48Star_half

Smutty Science Fiction; I am in Shareem Heaven!
This over the top Erotic adventure is the perfect steamy escape…

Shareem — men created in the laboratories of DNAmo to be tall, tight-assed and long-cocked, and know every way to bring a woman to ecstasy and keep her there. For days.

The Tales of the Shareem Series continues with another highly erotic Science Fiction adventure! This time featuring Rio and a damsel in distress…

RIO
Level Three Shareem

I’m a level three Shareem, a Dom. I make women do things they’d never dream of doing. I make them beg for things they never knew they wanted.
I spank them when they’re bad and pleasure them when they’re good. I whip them ‘til they come, then I kiss away the hurt.

Rio has been attempting to flee the planet Bor Narga for years. Just when he has his chance of smuggling himself onto a ship, he finds himself face-to-face with an assassin bot & a choice: Save an innocent woman or flee the planet which views him as a sex slave…

NELLA
A Princess on the run

She was innocent. She’d never met anything like a Shareem, and she had no sexual experience. He had to go slowly.
Rio had never gone slowly in his life. The women who wanted Rio knew what they were getting themselves into. No woman picked a level three Shareem without already knowing about sex — most of them were bored with sex and wanted something more.

Nella was captured and held prisoner for three months. She managed to escape her captor, and hopped transport after transport before landing on Bor Narga. Now she must trust the stranger who saved her from the assassin bot, but does she have any trust left?

For the Record: This book won’t be winning any literary awards. It’s not the best Erotica I’ve ever read… Hell, it’s not even the best Alien Erotica I’ve ever read. It’s campy at times, and completely over the top sexually. But you know what? I LOVE this series!

Judge if you want…

This story Features:
A BBW heroine,
a sassy computer,
drool worthy aliens,
voyeurism,
exhibitionism,
deflowering,
oral sex,
vaginal sex,
anal sex,
light bondage,
spanking,
whipping,
& MFM menage…

Allyson James – Rees

Rees by Allyson James

Series: Tales of the Shareem #1
Source: Personal Library
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

The Shareem. Males created to be tall, muscled, sexy, and… enhanced. They come in one of three levels pure sensual pleasure, games and wicked fun, or the ultimate barbarian complete with whip. They know how to bring a woman to ecstasy and exactly how to keep her there.
When Lady Talan d’Urvey reads the diary of a woman who spent one wicked week with a Shareem, she longs to experience the same carnality in one last fling before she takes her vow of celibacy. She goes in search of a Shareem and finds Rees, tall and blond, with Shareem-blue eyes. Just looking into those eyes makes Talan wild with need.
But Rees is a Shareem experiment that never should have been made. Rees is all the Shareem levels rolled into one, and then some. Rees is uncontrollable, Rees is unpredictable. Even Rees’s creators could never, ever be sure exactly what he would do.…

Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48Star_half

Science-Fiction/ Fantasy Erotica bred to my exact specifications…

In the year 3509, the company called DNAmo invented the men called Shareem.
They were taller than conventional men, strong, blue-eyed, long-cocked, firm-assed. They knew how to bring a woman to ecstasy and exactly how to keep her there.
The Shareem were DNAmo’s biggest success, but they were also its downfall.
The Shareem were trained in every sexual art. They were offered in one of three levels—pure sensual pleasure, games and wicked fun, or the ultimate Dom.

Welcome to the planet Bor Narga where women are the ruling class. It’s been twenty years since DNAmo went bankrupt and their cash crop of Shareem let loose – they are the lowest of the low in a society which shuns sex in favor of philosophy and science; they are viewed with curiosity and fear.

REES
aka Shareem # R294E8S

Rees was the ultimate Shareem. A level three, times ten. No one had ever known the extent of what he could do.
He was learning now.

Rees is an experiment which went wrong. He was completely out of control and was about to be terminated before escaping DNAmo in the days before the company folded. He’s been laying low, practicing his skills on the willing women of Bor Narga who are brave enough to seek out the infamous Shareem. But when an intriguing innocent girl starts following him, he finds himself helpless to the pull of a female for the first time in his life.

TALAN
aka Lady Talan d’Urvey

Talan had a feeling she would either regret her choice, or treasure the memory for the rest of her life.
Probably both.

Talan is a highborn woman and a avid student of philosophy. She is studying to free her mind from her body… She finds the diary of a woman who spent time with one of the legendary Shareem. Now she’s curious, studying them, and her curiosity gets the better of her when she finally sees one in the flesh. She follows him and eventually decides to succumb to his charms before she gives herself completely to the Order of the Star…

This is a story which features:
deflowering,
oral sex,
vaginal sex,
anal sex,
bondage,
spanking,
whipping,
MFM menage…

I should also mention that this book had more than a dozen grammatical and continuity errors which would have necessitated a lower rating had I not been so enamored with the story.

This is high fantasy and supremely entertaining. The sexual situations make for the majority of the storyline, but there is a fun plot with a sweet love story and a HAE…

Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48Star_full48

THIS REVIEW INCLUDES A FULL CHARACTER MAPPING – IN THE HOPES THAT A THIRD BOOK MIGHT BE ON THE WAY.
(and I apologize in advance for repeating some of the things I said in my review of Forbidden Forest)

Legends of Regia has the potential to be an amazing Epic Fantasy series! The world of Regia is full of complex societies – Elves, Shifters, Werewolves, and Vampires (plus various crossbreeds and spirits). Each have their own ideals and customs which weave a detailed narrative even before one considers the multitude of individual characters (who are fully developed with political aspirations, sometimes scheming, and generally suffering from some sort of emotional upheaval).

I find this richly developed world to be highly entertaining and well crafted. It’s a series which leaves me both happily sated and starving for more.

I adore Forest (I’m a sucker for badass female leads) Forest’s struggle to find her place in society is relateable, even in this high-fantasy setting.

I loved this little dialogue with a handmaid “doll” she fired from the court in Onyx Castle:

“Just who do you think you are?” screamed the doll. “I can trace my lineage back six centuries.”
“That’s nice,” Forest said acidly. “I’m the bastard child of two races. And I have a party to get ready for. So get out of my sight and stay out.” Forest gave them all a broad grin. “Welcome to the new world order.” She slammed the door in their shocked faces.

Naturally, Forest struggles with the rapid changes pressed upon her in this book (and she is entitled to a mini-meltdown), but as soon as her emotional struggles became too over the top for me, the author blessed us Netriet who stepped in to literally slap some sense into Forest:

“Look, Forest, I think you’re pretty awesome.” Forest snorted and rolled her eyes. “No, really,” Netriet pressed. “You’re an amazing person. You’re just an ingrate.”

(Thank you, Tenaya Jayne)

Syrus is a dreamy leading man, though I wish we could have learned more about what HIS aspirations were for the future of Regia and his birthright.

In the hope that additional books will be published in the Legends of Regia Series, I’ve mapped out the characters and settings so that they can be reviewed. (I tried to pick up Forest Fire Three months (and 40 books) after reading Forbidden Forest and quickly realized that I needed to re-read book one to refresh my memory. In my opinion, there is no hardship to repeated readings of either book, but if you want to jump straight into a book three (assuming there will be a book three – hint hint, Tenaya Jayne) here is how things left off in the World of Regia by the end of Forest Fire:

MAIN CHARACTERS:

Forest – Operative for Fortress who had a hatred of Vampires. A bastard half-breed Elf/Shifter – and therefore born into the lowest class possible. She guards an inter-dimensional portal (from Regia to Austin), reluctantly drafted as a bodyguard for Prince Syrus, who she discovers is her predestined life mate. (By the end of book two she is appointed Hailemarris, a sort of supreme judge. A position created by the Rune-dy)
Syrus – Vampire Prince, heir to the throne. Believed to be dead after an assassination attempt which left him blind. Master of the Blood Kata (a sword and Vampire martial art), given the title Sanguine Mage (By the end of Book Two, the general population of Regia still does not know he is alive. Forest and Syrus take up residence at her cottage and are on good terms.)

THE HIGH COUNCIL:

Devonte – the Wizard. Considers himself superior and above the law. – in book two, he heals Leith of the thorns.
Nahcaan – the Ogre. One of the most educated, talented, and easy-going ogres in all of Regia.
Zefyre – the Elf priestess. Forest’s aunt. Had a longstanding affair with Lush. The Mole within Paradigm, Plotting the overthrow of Regia by pitting the Vampires and Werewolves against each other. By the end of Book Two she is facing possible death at the hands of the Rune-dy for sending sacrificial messengers to Philippe.
Frost – the Werewolf. A superior politician, posh, slick as they came.
Gagnee – the Shape shifter. Changes her appearance more often than any other shifter in the whole of Regia (probably to eavesdrop on her underlings).
Lush – the Vampire. “Nobility scum, condescending with every syllable. Everything from his clothes to his tone of voice was calculated precisely. Arrogant and ambitious. Nothing more than a successful social climber.” Had a longstanding affair with Zefyre. Becomes the accidental accomplice of Zefyre by trading classified information. By the end of Book Two, his scheming is known, and he will soon face the consequences of his actions.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:

Leith – Vampire, owner of Forest (he branded her with a combination of lover and slave markings which bind her to him.) his ownership of Forest is a secret. In book two he is imprisoned by Rahaxeris and infected with thorns (which cause him to relive all the hurt he has caused others) he is sprung from his prison by his prison by his fater, cured by the Wizard Devonte, and killed by Syrus when he attachs Forest.
Kindel – manages the operatives of Fortress, reports directly to the High Council, recommended Forest (who he is secretly in love with) for the mission of escorting Prince Syrus to Wolveswood (by the end of book two he has been appointed as Forest’s personal assistant)
Lorcan – Twin brother of Leith, also holds a grudge against Forest. Threatens to expose Forest’s slavery to the court at Onyx Castle. Murdered by Syrus.
Maxcarion – Rouge wizard and mercenary who blinded Syrus in the assassination attempt. He is the goal of the journey in book one, but is unable to cure Syrus. He does, however, save Forest for the collar placed on her by Philippe.
Redge – Syrus’s bodyguard, best friend, all-around right hand man. Soldier in the Vampire Army.
Philippe – Leader of the Werewolves. Wears a cloak made of the wolf pelts of his enemies. Forced his subjects to learn and speak only French (and they’re rubbish at it) – Murdered by Netriet at the beginning of Book Two, throwing the pending Civil War into action.
Cristiana – Vampire Queen, conniving. In book two she separates Forest & Syrus, imprisoning Syrus in Onyx Castle and banishing Forest to Earth before sending countless assassins to kill her. She is finally stopped by Rahaxeris who banishes her from Regia, frees Syrus, and pulls all the Vampires from Earth.
Zeren – Vampire King
Netriet – Vampire, a sacrificial messenger sent to Philippe by the Mole inside Fortress. Forced to wear an enchanted ring (the “collar”) to deliver her message, then tortured by Philippe as he sought to master the ring. In the beginning of book one she Murders Philieppe, and nearly dies but it saved by Shi and the Heart. Unfortunately, the Heart was tainted and has changed Netriet into a Golum like split-personality.
Rahaxeris – Elf. Head of the Council of the Rune-dy. Zefyre’s brother and Forest’s father – though nobody knows his association to Forest except for Zefyre. By the end of Book Two, his relationship to Forest is made public. He reveals that he has been looking after Forest her whole life, achieved the position of head of the Rune-dy to protect her, and is restructuring the entire political system of Regia in order to make a better world for her.
Shi – the ghost of a Dryad – an extinct race. She’s the keeper of the Wood (kind of like an Ent) ally, confidant, and adopted mother to Forest. In book Two she saves Netriet after she falls from the Lair, her use of the healing power of the Heart in its weakened state causes her to believe that Netriet is probably changed for the worse.

SMALL PARTS AND “RED SHIRTS”

Pipha – Vampire, long dead life mate of King Zeren. Presumably murdered by Christina.
Tek – Werewolf merchant at the Fair who deals in human contraband
Martia – Ogre and Tek’s mate, attempts to befriend Netriet in Book Two
Kitch – Elf patroller outside Kyhael, unlucky enough to have stumbled upon Forest & Syrus’s campsite. Murdered by Rahaxeris.
Susa – Elf clerk inside Kyhael who relayed the report of Forest’s presence to the Rune-dy
Prefect Camber – Elf, a high profile “gofer” and the Rune-dy’s go-to-guy.
Liasia – Shifter, long dead mother of Forest
Ithiel – Vampire, legendary Lord Master of the Blood Kata who trained Syrus.
Marius – Werewolf Ambassador to Paradigm
Gahu – Werewolf, an officer of Philippe’s army

Hezeron – member of the Council of the Rune-dy (specializing in experimentation)
Abshael – member of the Council of the Rune-dy
Cassian – member of the Council of the Rune-dy
Menjel – member of the Council of the Rune-dy, he is also the former high priest of the Rune-dy whom Rahaxeris overthrew to gain his position
Baal – assistant to the Rune-dy Council members, unofficial assistant to Forest
Plixtz – assistant to the Rune-dy Council members
Merhl – the ogre in Onyx Castle with skill in portals, feels he owes Forest a debt
Dracula – yes, that Dracula. Member of the Royal Family
Ena – The lowest ranked handmaiden of Christina’s court & the only to be retained by Forest. By the end of Book Two she is hired as Forest’s Personal Secretary at Fortress.
Vladien – Vampire, nephew of Dracula, father of Leith & Lorcan
Merick – Vampire juggler in the Fair, secretly saves Netriet from two Werewolves
Guyas – a “newbie mage” in training at Obsidian Mountain
Taurus – a “newbie mage” in training at Obsidian Mountain

PLACES:

Austin, Tx – Forest’s home on Earth
Regia – a world in another Galexy
Paradigm – capital city of Regia
Wolveswood – a labyrinth Forest on the edge of the Werewolf city
The Lair – Werewolf stronghold at the base of the Eastern Regian Mountains
Desert of Halussis/Dreaming Desert – barrier to the Vampire city, comprised of highly toxic because black shadow sand which causes hallucinations.
Onyx Castle – Vampire stronghold within the Desert of Halussis
Fair – a gypsy-like open black market of Regia
Kyhael – The elf city.
Brigadoon – the world Queen Christina was banished to
Obsidian Mountain – where the masters of the Blood Kata go to train

IMPORTANT POINTS:

  • Vampires have been in power for a long time in Regia
  • By the end of Book Two we are working toward a Republic-based system of Government
  • The Rune-dy is a secret order of Elves who specialize in experiements and tourture and are feared
  • Werewolves and Vampires have always been enemies
  • Ogres are the constant allies of Vampires
  • Shifters are considered second-class citizens
  • Any Halfling (combination of the 4 pure races) is shunned by society…

UPDATE:
I found the following blurb on Tenaya Jayne’s Website

“I’m not able to throw down any dates for you yet, but I can tell you things have moved from concept to Work-in-Progress! The Legends of Regia #3, DARK SOUL(working title) may well turn out to be my favorite of the series. Social unrest, terrorism, murder, romance, a triangle, new villains, new heroes, and a new, one-of-a-kind heroine! I’m excited!”

Tenaya Jayne – Forbidden Forest

Forbidden Forest by Tenaya Jayne

Series: Legends of Regia #1
Source: Personal Library
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Born in shame. Cast from society. Shape Shifter/Elf hybrid, Forest must fight for any respect she can get. Targeted in her youth by a vampire noble who placed an illegal slave mark on her, she is forced to obey him, no matter what.

Slipping the grip of her master and abandoning the prejudice of Regia, her native world, Forest takes a job on Earth, guarding the portal, using her skills as a warrior to enforce Regia’s laws. Now, called home for a black ops mission, Forest must put aside her own prejudice to transport the vampire prince, Syrus, through enemy territory in a time of war.

Prince Syrus, mage and master of the Blood Kata, wants Forest more than he’s ever wanted anything. In spite of their mutual mistrust, their attraction cannot be denied. Through the danger of their mission, and the secrets they both keep, it doesn’t matter what they feel. Forest is forbidden.

I am a HUGE fan of the Legends of Regia. It truly has the potential to be an amazing Epic Fantasy series, and I certainly hope that Tenaya Jayne continues working on it.

In the world of Regia, Earth is only accessible through portals guarded by elite operatives of Fortress. One such portal is located in Austin, Texas as is guarded by Forest, a half-breed Elf/Shifter Hybrid. She is a fantastically badass female character, and had me from the very start. Despite her well-known hatred of Vampires, she is drafted by Fortress for a Secret Mission – escort the Vampire Prince into Enemy Territory.

A ton of adventure, action, espionage, mystery, suspense, and romance… This book has it all. I can’t say enough about how happy I am to have stumbled across it, and I recommend it highly.

This is definitely one of those books I wish more people knew about…

By the way: This book is FREE on iTunes, so really there’s no excuse not to pick it up, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 5, 2013

I finally downloaded Forest Fire, read the first few chapters and realized that in the Legends of Regia series, Tenaya Jayne has created a world so detailed and full of complex character relationships that I needed to re-read Forbidden Forest just to get my bearings. Its been two months and forty books since I read Forbidden Forest the first time, and I definitely needed a refresher. It wasn’t much of a hardship to re-read this book, I do enjoy this world. 🙂
