Jordan Castillo Price – Spook Squad (Review & Excerpt)

Spook Squad by Jordan Castillo Price

Series: PsyCop #7
Source: Personal Library
My Rating: 4 of 5 Stars

Everyone enjoys peace and tranquility, and Victor Bayne is no exception. He goes to great lengths to maintain a harmonious home with his partner, Jacob. Although the cannery is huge, it’s grown difficult to avoid the elephant in the room…the elephant with the letters FPMP scrawled on its hide.

Once Jacob surrendered his PsyCop badge, he infiltrated the Federal Psychic Monitoring Program. In his typical restrained fashion, he hasn’t been sharing much about what he actually does behind its vigilantly guarded doors. And true to form, Vic hasn’t asked. In fact, he would prefer not to think about the FPMP at all, since he’s owed Director Dreyfuss an exorcism since their private flight to PsyTrain.

While Vic has successfully avoided FPMP entanglement for several months, now his debt has finally come due.

Sophie Stern – Curves and the Alien (Review & Excerpt)

Curves and the Alien by Sophie Stern

Series: Aislin’s Alien Adventures #1
Source: Review by Request
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

When Aislin goes to a party, she isn’t looking for love, for romance, or for a boyfriend.

She’s especially not looking for someone who tries to kill her.

But when she’s unexpectedly saved and abducted by a friendly, sexy, jaw-droppingly hot alien, it’s time for Aislin to start figuring out what she is looking for.

This novella is book one in a new series that follows Aislin on her adventures with Eustace the alien; however, it can be enjoyed as a standalone story.

Kayla Stonor – Release By Treaty (Review & Excerpt)

Release By Treaty by Kayla Stonor

Series: Qui Treaty Collection #1
Source: Review by Request
Copy Provided by Agent
My Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

Release by Treaty, part of a short story collection of futuristic space opera romance from Kayla Stonor.

The scent of his attraction drives her wild. Can he accept the war’s over?

After decades of war, the Qui Empress ushers in a new galactic era when she signs a peace treaty and takes a human consort. She orders the K’lahn, the Qui’s warrior class, to surrender all human prisoners of war.

Hand selected by the Empress, Dol’ce is tasked with the mission to retrieve Colonel Abe Marcel and bring him home. Having lost his entire combat unit, Marcel is barely surviving K’lahn imprisonment. Dol’ce delivers him into the safety of her ship, and through delicate care, nurses his soul and body back to health. But his savior is a member of the Qui, a sophisticated alien race of shape shifters who rule a galactic empire, the very same Qui who once ordered the decimation of Earth. Dol’ce has never met a human before and the overpowering call of Marcel’s unruly male pheromones unleashes havoc on her senses. Her exotic beauty and powerful desire leaves him with a hard problem only she can relieve.

Marcel must accept that the war is really over, or lose the alien glittering gem who saved his life.

This sexy scifi romance tale is the first in a futuristic collection inspired by Under By Treaty, a space opera romance in Kayla Stonor’s Surrender collection. Each tale in the Qui Treaty Collection is a standalone novella set in the Qui galactic empire, with annihilation of mankind held at bay only through the Treaty consummated between the Qui Empress and the human consort abducted under its terms.

Angel 6.0: Concubine by Travis Luedke

Series: Angel 6.0, #1
Source: Personal Library
My Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

My name is Angel, and I live on Nugene Station. My days are filled with doctor’s tests, but I spend my nights dancing in zero G, or in the arms of my secret lover, Carver Liddell.

Nugene is the sole outpost orbiting Jupiter where specially engineered human clones are bred for sale to The Gran, a fierce alien race of Cats. The treaty between humanity and the Cats guarantees a constant supply of worker drones.

I am not a worker drone. I am something else. I am the untapped potential of the human genome. I am the next step in human evolution.

The Cats finally noticed me, they know I am special. Now they want me. They want to breed me. Silly Cats, don’t they know clones are sterile?

Nugene is only the beginning of my story.

Blind Man’s Wolf by Amelia Faulkner

Series: Tooth & Claw #1
Source: Review by Request
Copy provided by Author
My Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

A night-blind vampire. A werewolf with lousy self-confidence. And a whole hell of a lot of danger…

Ellis O’Neill is an art dealer with too many problems: his eyesight has deteriorated to the point of night-blindness; he’s estranged from his family, to whom he owes a considerable sum of money; and his guide dog went right off him the night Ellis died. Without his dog, Ellis is trapped in a life bouncing between home and work, dependent on his personal assistant.

Werewolf Randall Carter has problems of his own. He loves his pack, he really does, but as their Omega he’s always the one to bear the brunt of their rage. It’s a role he can’t avoid, and Randall isn’t sure he can take it for much longer, so he buries himself in his day job. Randall’s the best dog trainer in the city, and when he’s offered a client who needs him to work evenings he’d be a fool to turn it down.

Soon Randall is falling for someone he should despise. Everything about the undead is anathema to his kind, but Ellis is exactly the kind of guy Randall would want to ask out on a date – if he were still breathing. Worse, they may not have too long to figure their feelings out. Someone or something is gunning for Ellis and anyone else who gets in the way; they won’t rest until the vampire is destroyed.

My Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

Victor Bayne’s job as a PsyCop involves tracking down dead people and getting them to spill their guts about their final moments. It’s never been fun, per se. But it’s not usually this annoying.

Vic has just moved in with his boyfriend Jacob, he can’t figure out where anything’s packed, and his co-worker is pressuring him to have a housewarming party.

Can’t a guy catch a break?

On a more sinister note, Vic discovers there’s absolutely no trace of him online. No trace of anyone else who trained at “Camp Hell,” either.

Everyone Vic knows has signed a mysterious set of papers to ensure his “privacy.” The contracts are so confidential that even Vic has never heard of them. But Jacob might have.

What other secrets has Jacob been keeping?
