I was hurt. I was heartbroken. I felt abandoned and emotionally drained.
Sometimes heartache can open new doors.
Of course, names have been changed to protect all parties involved, but this is my story.
*Disclaimer* This is a short erotic comedy. Not a novelette, novella, or novel but a short story.
Ironic is the first installment in The Kinky Connect Chronicles. The Kinky Connect Chronicles are short erotic stories all wrapped up in a neat little bow. No cliffhangers in the lot!

Sweet and oh so incredibly SEXY!
It’s indecent, it’s fast, it’s delectable.
I’m really delighted with the format for this series. Each story stands completely alone with no cliffhangers and each novella features a new couple with new backstories and new kinks.
The common thread which binds each book is the fictional dating site KinkySinglesConnect.com (Yes, that’s a live link, and yes you can interact with the website featured in this series.)
This innovative format means that Harper Miller can bring readers something fresh and fun with each book of this series – the possibilities are endless! So many kinks, so little time 🙂 but oh so much Kindle space, so bring it on!
I know nothing about the man, but I liked that he didn’t judge me. I liked that he didn’t think something was wrong with me. He just let me be me.
Tanya just got out of a bad marriage, she’s separated from her cheating husband. While snooping on her ex’s laptop, she comes across KinkySinglesConnect.com – curious to discover what lured her husband away to other women, Tanya creates an account and logs on.
Once she gets past her initial shock at the plethora of kinky fun being advertised on the site, she winds up reluctantly chatting with one of the members.
With her anonymity firmly intact, Tanya spills her whole story to a complete stranger on the internet.
“I won’t complicate your life, but I will enhance it. You have my word.”
Kenji is a model and an unapologetic kinkster. He prefers dark-skinned women, has a foot fetish, and an oral fixation that will curl the reader’s toes – and Tanya’s too, eventually!
He’s the perfect listener, and it doesn’t take long for Tanya to form a bond with him. They chat a few times online and a friendship of mutual respect is born.
I love that these two characters form a connection sight unseen.
Tanya is a flight attendant, and Kenji travels for work. When they finally come face to face in a Heathrow Airport Terminal, sparks fly.
Holy hell, people! I’ve read some intense public trysts in my day, but the first hookup with this couple is scorching hot.
The story progresses at a wonderful pace. Nothing felt rushed even in this short format. It was a wonderful, sexy, quick read.
This story concluded with a satisfying and realistic HEA. Harper Miller has a wonderfully unique way of wrapping up her Kinky Connect Chronicle books, and you’ll have to check it out for yourself! 🙂
Q&A with Harper Miller:
We asked the lovely and talented Harper Miller what’s next for The Kinky Connect Chronicles series, and here’s what she had to say:
In regards to where I want to take KCC, not exactly sure. I know the series won’t be excruciatingly long. LOL, no one wants a never ending saga. I know not to beat a dead horse. I figure I’ll get a few more stories in the mix before I phone it in. The next installment is pretty darn interesting. I anticipate getting that one out late fall/early winter since I’m taking a bit of a writing hiatus for a month or two.I had a few goals in mind when I came up with the premise for the Kinky Connect Chronicles. For one, I wanted to pack a lot of story into a few pages to show readers that not all short stories are unfulfilling cliffhangers. An author can hook a reader and keep them intrigued in a few pages. It’s also a great way to introduce my writing style to those who are afraid to give newer indie authors a chance. Lastly, I wanted to introduce fetishes and alternative lifestyles to people who have no idea about kink, and in the process perhaps get them to ditch preconceived notions. While many things covered in the stories may not be their kink, I want readers to keep an open mind.I can only hope that I’ve fulfilled all my goals in the first two installments. I guess we’ll see… LOL, the readers will be vocal and let me know if their needs haven’t been met.
brwngrltrvler: I’m not in NYC at the moment. I’m overseas, for work.
JapKenDoll: Nice! Your passport is getting a workout. That’s right, you did say it was late where you are. Where’d your travels take you?
brwngrltrvler: Why are you asking? You plan on flying all the way from New York, Superman? I’m in London.
There’s a long pause.
JapKenDoll: Good thing I just got my cape back from the dry cleaners. 🙂 Tanya, I kid you not, I’m in Paris for work. It’s Fashion Week, which is a pretty big deal in my industry. I realize this is going to sound crazy, and you’ll probably say no, but I’d like to meet you. I fly out of De Gaulle with a layover at Heathrow for about an hour tomorrow. We can grab a cup of coffee as friends.
Well, that explains him checking into a hotel. Friends. Hmm, friends. Well, Kenji said he was transparent, but he doesn’t want to be just friends; I am sure of it. We were chatting via a kink-centric website. This is where people went for hookups. I’m sure he wanted something, something I most likely couldn’t give him.
brwngrltrvler: That’s a bad idea, Kenji.
JapKenDoll: Better to meet in London than New York, right? Afterward, you go off in your direction, I go in mine, and we never have to see each other again. Humor me. Have coffee with a man you’ll never see again. 🙂
I know it’s a bad idea, everything in my being is screaming it’s a bad idea. I’m emotional, I’m raw, I’m . . . stupid.
brwngrltrvler: What time?
Yes, incredibly stupid.
